Windows 11 was installed by a PC Builder and the User Folder was named Owner with no password. I logged on as Owner and changed my User Name to Bill Phillips using my Microsoft Account Credentials. I wanted to change the User Folder Name from Owner to BillPh using a Registry hack. I saved a copy of the Registry on my Desktop before making the hack. See the two lousy screenshots taken with my phone because I'm accustomed to using Paint to save screenshot made using Win+Shift+S but could not find

My existing Windows 10 Pro self-built PC failed and I'm building an all new replacement (mb, cpu, ram) in the same case. Is there a way to skip installing Windows 10 on the new PC and still take advantage of the free upgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro?From what I've found searching FAQs is that I should be able to transfer my existing windows 10 license from the dead computer to the new one which should make my replacement PC eligible for the free Windows 11 upgrade. Is that correct?

How do I delete a folder containing a copy of a System Volume Information folder? I copied a entire volume (F:) to a folder (F_Cakewalk_Projects) on another volume (H:). H: also contains the local OneDrive folder. I then tried to delete the copy. Everything was deleted except the folder and the System Volume Information folder. See two Explorer screenshots belowI also tried to delete the folder running CMD as administrator but none of the folders on H:\ show up on H:\ in the CMD window. How can

Where is my Music Production OneNote Notebook and how do I restore it on OneDrive so that I can share it between devices? This notebook exists (See screenshot) and has for many years. It has to exist somewhere but I can't find it. Microsoft has done a really good job of hiding it. It's resided on OneDrive for several years, and I've regularly accessed it from my PC, my SurfacePro and my Android Phone. Recently I noticed the innocuous (saved offline error) note in the upper right corner of the sc

What do I need to do to resolve the OneDrive sync issue shown in the two OneDrive popup screenshots? What caused this problem? Here's a description of what I did and what I observed.I wrote a RoboCopy script (Robocopy F:\ H:\OneDrive\F_Cakewalk_Projects_BU /XO /E /COPYALL /DCOPY:DAT /MIR /LOG+:%log_fname%) to update a folder on OneDrive. I tested it on a smaller folder first and it worked fine.On the OneDrive folder (F_Cakewalk_Projects_BU ~100GB), marked "Always keep on this device" the folder

What is the Manage folder backup screenshot below telling me about folder backups? For me I believe that my Desktop and Pictures are in my OneDrive folder (on PC and Cloud) and nowhere else, and my Documents are on my System Drive (C:\) and nowhere else. But the Manage folder backup display (see screenshot) shows Desktop and Picture files "backed up" (meaning on PC and on OneDrive to me) and My Documents are "checked" (meaning on OneDrive to me). Very confusing.

How do I backup (sync) folders on drives other than (C:\) to OneDrive sync? I've been able to copy folders from other drives to OneDrive but they don't sync. The manage folder backup only shows three folders (Desktop, Documents and Pictures). It looks like those are the only folders that can be backed up.

OneDrive. Is it possible to keep some files Online only? Hi, I have little disk space on my laptop, and my OneDrive Space is bigger than my computer's free space. I want to keep some folder online, in OneDrive Cloud only, so that those folders won't be synchronized to my computers, is it possible? Добрый день, хотела бы узнать, можно ли некоторые файлы и папки хранить только на облачном хранилище, так чтобы они не скачивались на компьютер? У меня на буке меньше места чем на облачном храни

My PC has been trying to update from 1909 to 2004 for about a month. When it actually attempts the updates, the BSOD pops up with a familiar failure code. After doing that a few times. I now get "Fix Issues" message. Once initiated a "What needs your attention" message results stating that my PC can't be upgraded, that it's settings are not supported yet and that no action is needed. I'm guessing that one or more of my hardware drivers are not supported. However I don't know which ones. I u

I'm trying to move my local OneDrive folder from my user directory on C:\\ to the empty NTFS formated SD card installed in my Surface Pro 3 following the instructions at Change the location of your OneDrive folder After I unlink this PC in step 2 of the instructions the existing OneDrive folder becomes unavailable. So I can't move folders from the existing OneDrive folder to the new one as directed in step 3. When I try to select the new OneDrive folder on the SD in step 5, I'm presented wi

How do I get the NAS Network Drive Created to reappear and require password entry next time I startup My Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10 version 1903? I Mapped the NAS as a network drive with "Reconnect at sign-in" unchecked and "Connect using different credentials" checked. Then I entered credentials and created the drive. Can I configure Windows 10 to load larger portions of processes in use thereby using more physical memory? Right now only about 10 of the 32GBs of physical memory is being used and lots of page faults are occurring. I have the page file set to 0MB. 32GBs of physical memory is installed. But Windows 10 appears to conserves physical memory by only loading small portions of programs and then loading other sections as needed. Loading missing portions generates page faults which take time to resol

This problem seems to be endemic. I keep thinking that each update will fix it, but it seems to be getting worse. My  surface pro 3 now has a surface pro 4 type cover and I thought that would solve the problem but it hasn't. I don't use a mouse and use the touch pad exclusively. I have Windows 10 version 1809 with three 1809.01 updates installed. However the problem existed before 1809 and has probably gotten worse since. Yesterday and today, I've been trying to consolidate some photo files an

I'm looking for help installing Windows 10 1809. MY PC is custom built, about a year old and has i7-6850 processor with 32 GB memory and Windows 10 Pro x64 v1803 build 17134.472 installed on 5/24/2018. 1809 install has failed twice to install. I was present during the second failure. My PC has 32GB memory The installer expanded the standby memory until the free memory reached 0 twice after which the displays lost their feed but neither the computer or the displays powered down. Hi, There is an ongoing issue about Windows 10 suddenly shown as deactivated. The affected users need not to do anything as it is a known issue. Here is what was told by Microsoft Chat support: Microsoft has just released an Emerging issue announcement about current activation issue related to Pro edition recently. This happens in Japan, Korea, American and many other countries.I am very sorry to inform you that there is a temporary issue with Microsoft's activation server at the moment an

Split from this thread. I have an Acer Aspire and all the problems that everyone else has with Windows Update. I went through all the suggestions listed in this website and other websites and it boils down to this. You need at least 4GB Ram and more than a 32 GB Disk drive --period -- to operate Windows 10 at a decent speed and get the updates. That makes the Acer Aspire a piece of junk and should be illegal. It has an attractive price for a low end user and should be advertised as such.

I'm trying to average values for data collected during in given period of time during the day. The actual table contains hundreds of rows. I'm showing 2 row example here for simplicity. I've also tried using AVERAGEIF. I've got other calculations on the same sheet that don't require logical operators that work fine. So it seems that it must be a syntax problem. But I've tried every syntax combination that I've been able to think of and none work. What am I doing wrong and how do I get this to

Split from this thread. I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower. I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help. I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping. Some searching and I found a general
