Word 2013 cursor jumping around screen

Hi

 

I'll start this by saying the PC is not a laptop, and doesn't have a trackpad and I've changed the mouse.

 

When in word, whilst viewing a document (not even typing), the cursor jumps around the document.

 

Why would this be, and how do I stop it ??!!

Does this happen only in Word or in all applications? Is the mouse wireless? If it happens in all applications and the mouse is wireless, then I can say that in a similar situation I found that rebooting the wireless router solved the problem (don't ask me why).

Mine does this as well, and I agree it is not related to the mouse or touchpad.  I noticed that it begins with using the Find feature to search for a term in my document.  After I've done a search in my document, it seems to get stuck in a mode of searching regardless if I close the Navigation or remove the term from the box.  This problem started after I installed Microsoft Word 2013.  I've been using Word for many years and have had more problems with this version than any other.  Still looking for the solution...
