That's ignorant. Microsoft really wants to get people to buy Windows 7-8.

Can this update be uninstalled ?

Will it constantly bug me to upgrade when I can't ?

I fear it'll just install a bug me on boot for years to come (like errors on w98, w2k, even my old windows phone [5.2] & office-XP)

I've already left XP for all desktop functions, but my old "windows phone" is not Vista/7 compatible, requiring ActiveSync & winXP when I want to 'sync' data between outlook, my HTC made windows mobile phone & Toshiba made windows mobile PDA.

XP is not my main environment - but am forced to boot & use it with ActiveSync to sync those old microsoft devices. Not throwing them [pda & phone] out because they do everything I want them to do.

Its microsofts failure to be backward compatible (let me use my old microsoft devices in Vista/7) that has kept booting XP to sync msft software devices.

You should be able to un-install the update. I myself am waiting to see how often it reminds me.

Infuriatingly this update KB2934207 has arrived today 05 Apr 2014 , even though I hid the update last month.  This time the option to hide the update is greyed out.

Anybody know how to obliterate KB2934207 ?

Use the 'Task Scheduler' (Scheduled Tasks) to kill / remove it from notifying you on a periodic basis.

@"JW Stuart". Thank you for the informed and valid advice regarding post-installation issue rectification. After refusing to install this unwanted update repeatedly, Microsoft finally offered the option to hide the update (yet again).

What a waste of time.

I don't doubt as today is April 8th, the end of support for XP has arrived so I guess it was Microsoft's way of posting a final notice.
