However when this issue developed my cc cleaner would only analyze 25%   i finally do a manuel abort and then clean and it also freezes at 25%..I am a novice and basically using  microsoft essentials and virus scanner and  Windows 7..explore 11

i also got the same result with slim clean

Hi,

We do not recommend using Optimizer Programs such as SlimCleaner.

And when using CCleaner never use the Registry Cleaning Tools.

See if this assists you:

Download, install, update and scan your System with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware and if necessary do this in Safe Mode with Networking:

"Advanced startup options (including safe mode)"

And also Scan with the free version of SUPERAntiSpyware

http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition is 100% Free and will detect and remove thousands of Spyware, Adware, Malware, Trojans, KeyLoggers, Dialers, Hi-Jackers, and Worms. SUPERAntiSpyware features many unique and powerful technologies and removes spyware threats that other applications fail to remove.

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition does not include real-time blocking or scheduled scanning.

This is a very good Program to scan your System to remove Adware, etc:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

AdwCleaner is a program that searches for and deletes Adware, Toolbars, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP), and browser Hijackers from your computer.  By using AdwCleaner you can easily remove many of these types of programs for a better user experience on your computer and while browsing the web.

And just to be sure nothing is lurking in the background:

Then run SFC command;

"How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7"

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
  2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sfc /scannow
The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Cheers.
