Hi.
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I just wanted to confirm, if you are looking for Jump list feature in Windows 10.
Press Windows + i keys on the keyboard simultaneously, setting screen appears, choose personalize click start on the left panel and enable “recently opened items in the jump list in the start/task bar.
I hope the above suggestion helps. If this is not the issue that you are looking for, please come back with a clear description and we would be glad to help you.
Thank you.

I too am looking for this feature in 2016- it was a great addition to 2013 and I used it all the time but now I have upgraded to 2016 and we do not have the option to pin folders when going to File | Open.
Strangely the option is there when choosing File|Save.
Help is required!

Totally agree pinned folders is essential where is it, I don't want to pin only files when I have 100's of files in a folder I want quick access to Excel.... 2013 office it was a standard feature... is it because they want you to put it all in One Drive? which I don't want to as already using dropboxI too am looking for this feature in 2016- it was a great addition to 2013 and I used it all the time but now I have upgraded to 2016 and we do not have the option to pin folders when going to File | Open.
