Also note that Microsoft's Paint which comes with Windows 10 already can perform many editing functions.

I was shocked to see the new photo editor. Why are we forced to accept the changes? I'd like the previous version back. I still have it on my tablet. How do I prevent that from being updated? Please give people the choice to have what they like. Thank you.

Starting with the Anniversary Update, it is deprecated. You can use Photo Gallery as an alternative which is very much similar to Photo Viewer. You can also try familiarizing yourself with the changes in Photos. Microsoft is constantly refining it and even the version in the next revision in Windows 10 Creators Update is more mouse friendly.

I specifically liked certain features in the photo editor. Being able to adjust light and dark areas separately, and enhance or dilute specific colours. It was very clear and easy to use. I never use the kind of filters the new version has. All it seems to have is filters. Absolute rubbish! I think customers should be allowed to choose to update or not.

Photo Gallery is NOT similar. If I wanted to change my photos with trendy filters I would use SnapChat. I loved the old version where I could enhance certain colours in my photos for creativity. It wasn't as if functions were being used differently; certain functions are gone altogether and general "quick fixes" have been put into place. Let those of us who want to have the choice of going back to the previous version so that we may continue to have more control over our photography! Please DO NOT become another bubble-gum photo fixer.

that is all great a good, but people really did like the old Photo Editor, so yes we want it back. Do not like the new stuff at all.  So you know MS should at least give in a little and give us back the old Photo Editor.

Same here, I am so feed up with this run around plus taking a huge chance with these 3rd parties just can not trust them now days.  MS do the right thing give us back the old Photo Editor, it was one of the best programs you had and is still in demand today.
