Old hotmail log in

The submitted form is not working. Any other ways to log into an old Hotmail account? It's for my aunt. She got fed up jumping threw hoops long ago but was upset today because she missed out about hearing of important news because it got sent to her email address. She has since gotten a new address but it was giving her log in/security grief today, which I helped her with, which prompted the conversation around her original addy.

Any suggestions? She has no idea who the last people were she emailed...

How "old" is the account? Because after a year or two accounts that aren't logged into are deactivated and removed.

is there an easy/not so time consuming way to resurrect a deactivated account?

Her old email addy isn't available when I tried to use it to build her a new one.

If the account is deactivated, and none of those methods work, then there is no way to retrieve the contents of the account.
