USB Floppy disk drives not working in Windows 10 Technical Preview

I've tried all sorts of reinstall even down to only one usb device. My usb floppy just will not work but it is recognised in device manager as a non working device My drive is YD-8U10. It is a newish device.

I think I talk to you before, but just to refresh my memory what system are you running *32 or 64 bit?*. I may be able to help you !!.

I'm having an issue with USB devices attached on this build.  Previous build was fine.

When I connect my FuelBand or Polar Sports watch, I can't get my PC to detect them now.  Even though they are connected via the USB ports the PC doesn't see them as being there.

Let us follow these methods and check if this helps.

Method 1.

Plug in the device and run the hardware troubleshooter. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

Follow these steps:
- Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
- Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press enter.
- Click hardware and sound and run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.
- Follow the On screen instructions. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

Method 2.

You may also look for optional updates in Windows Updates to see if there are any additional updates related to this device and install them as required.

Further, I would suggest you to completely uninstall the USB driver and reinstall it to check if this helps.

Follow these steps.

• Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.

• In the list of devices, you should see the USB device.

• Right click on the device driver and then select "Uninstall".

• In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.

In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will force the computer to recognize any hardware changes. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

Are you running the 32 bit or the 64 bit?. If you have the 32 bit, I will guide you to a different thread where I have posted a fix that I put together myself. All the drivers needed for the floppy disk drive, are actually in the Windows 10 Technical Preview Evaluation copy.  

It's 64 bit actually, guide me to the thread anyways, maybe I can figure it out.

Here is the revised install of the drivers update in the Device Manager phase. Increasing the zoom level on this page (lower right side of the status bar) will help reading this small and blurry print.

Here is the 64 bit revised install, it's mostly for the Device Manager drivers update phase. Increasing the zoom level( % in the bottom right of the status bar) will help in reading this blurry text. 

Deeply confused by all of this.    I have a Teac floppy.  It worked plug and play for about a month.

Now it doesn't.   The device info shows that it is there and states 'this device is working properly'.   The driver info statres ' this is the best up to date software &c.    I followed the advice to uninstall the driver - it went through all the motions including restart - and then when I check the driver is still there.   So it's 'working properly' the driver is 'up to date'   but it doesn't appear in the 'This computer screen'.    With respect and thanks to A.User - I don't think that everyone who wants to read a legacy disc should have to go through all of that - with a good chance of finding that it still doesn't help.

Could someone at caring sharing microsoft get off of their cloud and have a proper look at this please?

I know that floppy disks are a rarity these days, but there are still some important reasons to work with them. My reason is a theatre organ that was top of the line 10 years ago, cost $50,000 when new, and, unlike 10 year old computers, this magnificent musical instrument is certainly not ready for the scrap heap. Unfortunately, it has a 1.44M floppy drive.

I'm running Win 10 64 bit. My drive is shown under Floppy disk drives in Device Manager as a Mitsumi USB UFDD 061M USB Device. It says I have the latest drivers installed and the device is working properly -- except that it isn't. When I insert any disk in the drive, and click on Drive A: in File Manager, it spins for about 15 seconds, and then there is an error message  "A:\ is not accessible. The request is not supported."

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
