RockallDLL.dll was not found

Hello,

Recently I just install Age Of Empire 3 in my windows 10 computer. When I open it, it say that "The code execution cannot proceed because RockallDLL.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem". Then, tried to find a way to solve it in the internet, they said I need to copy the file into C:/windows/system32 and C:/program files (x86)/microsoft games/age of empires III, and I did just like they told me to. I took the file from the zip file in AoE3 game disc. But the same problem keep occuring.

My brother installed it once in his windows 8 computer using the same disc, the game works fine though.

Please HELP ME,

Hey Arif,

Hopefully I can help here. Have you tried using regsvr32 on the DLL? Copy that DLL file to the C: (or your respective letter) drive, and run an elevated Command Prompt session.

Enter the following (change it accordingly), without quotes: "regsvr32 C:\RockallDLL.dll"

Let me know if there are any errors that pop up or have registered properly. Good luck.

The rockalldll.dll  file does not belong in System32. I would delete the one you put there.

There should be one in the games main folder though.

If reinstalling the game, or extracting a new copy of rockalldll.dll from the Disk1C~1.cab file on the installation disc

into the games main folder and registering it (which the game should have done while installing) did not help there may

be another issue that is leading to the error that is not directly attributable to the rockalldll.dll .

- If you have not already done so, patch the game to v1.14 as well. This patch also includes a new age3.exe which will

allow you to run the game without using the disc.

As with many old games this one requires that Direct Play is enabled. Verify this in...

Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off. Tic the box next to Legacy Components & Direct Play.

Also verify .NET Framework 3.5, if is enabled.
