Didn't fix the problem. Method 1 gave a pop up of: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook.Command line is not valid. Verify switch.
Method 2: Compatibility mode seems ok.
Method 3: Not fixed after repair. (Have already tried uninstall and reinstall)
I did notice that there seems to be a duplicate copy in 64 bit and the other.

Have you created a new profile? I would start with this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918
Take a look at this article, it is for XP, but might apply to you as well:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/252304
If you are connecting to an Exchange server, see this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982678
Hope some of that helps...

#1 No way to click on "OK" Got only "Nothing found in all locations for "Outlook. exe /resetnavpane"
#2 Got to Office 14, but there is no Outlook.exe, only Outlook.exe.Manifest, which gave me nothing.
#3 My Control Panel does not have a Programs and Features icon as directed.
Thank you for the suggestions, though.

The second [XP] reference [Microsoft Fixit 50769] got to my problem but told me that it does not apply for my operating system or application version.
Thank you for trying

Another cause of this message is when two accounts (one administrator and one user) use the same default e-mail .pst file for shared access to e-mail.
If one account has Outlook open and you switch users, the other account will not be able to open Outlook and gets presented with the above error.

Methods 1-3 failed in the same way. No duplicate copy. Here is what worked for me.
1) Go to control panels and view items in, say, small icons.
2) Click on mail (in my case Mail (32-bit))
3) Click on E-mail Accounts
4) Highlight the problematic e-mail account, say, xxx.msn.com and click on Change
5) Input your credientials again, click OK and close
6) Start Outlook.
