Windows Update Error Code 8020002E

The following error prevents my computer from installing windows updates:

Code 8020002E

Updates that i was trying to install:

Updates for Windows 7 fo x64-based Systems

Updates for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1

Security Updates for Windows 7 fo x64-based Systems

Security Updates for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1

My computer encountered a serious error which caused it to repeatedly go into blue screen and run slow for several days.

I run system restore to try to fix the problem, tried to install windows updates after but I keep on getting "Failed" messages with multiple errors, the most persistent was the error code 8020002E. My computer never had a failed update install before. I tried fixing it using windows update troubleshooter and system update readiness tool.

I did a reformat a few days later, my computer runs smooth again; however, my computer still cannot install updates.

I tried to install one type of update at a time to find which update causes which error

The above mentioned updates causes the same error--802000E.

Again, I tried using windows update trouble shooter--did not work.

I will then try the system update readiness tool, but if it still does not work what other options do I have to fix the problem?

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload to your OneDrive (formerly Sky Drive), share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.

Please upload and share with everyone copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your OneDrive and post a link here.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window expand Windows Logs and select System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

What anti-virus software is installed?

What is your computer model? Please use the information in the next link to answer my question:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/noPfinderResults?query=Envy+4-B5T04UA&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en&tool=

It is always sensible in this situation to run a check for malware

I recommend that you run Disk CleanUp or cCleaner to remove temporary files as this will reduce scanning times by security software. cCleaner comes with a Registry tool. Do not use this tool as like any registry cleaner it can lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors

Please download and install Malwarebytes (freeware version for home users only -not the Trial version), update definitions and run in normal mode. Disable other security software whilst you are doing scans.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Please download and run ADWCleaner:

My laptop model is HP Pavilion g4 Notebook

I've already checked for malware using Microsoft Security Essentials.

Also, I have just reformatted my computer yesterday (factory reset) so disk cleanup may not be needed.

Everything works fine except for the Windows Update.

Is it possible that the virus is retained even after reformatting?

My laptop product number is QC312PA#UUF

I did a full system scan using Microsoft Security Essentials, nothing was found.

I did a full scan using Malwarebytes, 4 files were detected. Those files were copied from my hard drive before it was reformatted and has been in my computer for more than a year which did no harm. Should I delete it?

I also did a scan using ADWCleaner. Some issues were found.

Here's the link for the logs created by Malwarebytes and ADWCleaner:

They should be removed before we start to investigate further. When this has been done I suggest you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostics Tool in normal mode and copy and paste the results in a reply for further analysis:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

Run the Tool and when it completes click the Copy button, open a text file like Word or Notepad and select Edit, Paste. You can paste directly into a reply here. Open a reply, right click and select Paste.
