Hello there! I recently installed Windows 7 and I wanted to use its features to communicate with my PS3. I used the java program "PS3 Media Server" but I wanted to see how well WMP 12 works. Although I shared my library using the homegroup feature, the
PS3 interface said I had to register the device.
However the problem was that Windows 7 would not see my PS 3 although my PC and my PS 3 were connected to the same wireless network. When I tried to bring the network map under the Network and Sharing Center, it said that Windows cannot discover any computer
or device. I made sure Network discovery was turned on under advanced sharing settings.
However, my Norton Internet Security could find the PS3 under its own "Network map" feature.
Alas, I managed to allow *ALL* devices to stream from my PC and finally then the PS 3 interface could read my media library from my PC.
But because I can't see the PS 3 as a remote device , the "play to" feature is not available. Any idea how I can make my PS 3 discoverable?

go to the Sony forums and ask then when they will have DLNA 1.5
firmware available for the PS3.
the ONLY way the PS3 will work with Play To is with firmware that
supports this

Network". However if I switch to "Show Devices on ALL NETWORKS" i
see an "unknown Device" with the MAC address of my PS 3 but I can
only allow/disallow it to access my media library on my PC. I can't
"identify it" as the PS3 and play stuff to it. Do I have to install
a driver of some sort? And yes, Sonic_Spike, the other way around is
you for your interest!
