OK, I am very frustrated by this. REPEATEDLY when on another tab, working on things, suddenly a red * will come up on the Mail icon tab which is SUPPOSED to indicate a new message has arrived in my Inbox. HOWEVER, when I check my Inbox, there is NOTHING NEW in it. This has been going on for a very long time now (over a year) and I want to know how to make it stop falsely stating there is new email when there is NOT! Or is this just ANOTHER screwup by Microsoft that they have no intention of fixing!?It happens to me as well. I fix it by reloading my Outlook tab.

Bump.
Apparently Microsoft doesn't give a **** about this issue despite the clear amount of frustration expressed from the community.

Sorry but that is not a fix. The whole point of this concept - that is also used by other sites (correctly might I add) is that if there is a notification update on said tab, the icon appears; and when the user navigates to said tab and views all updates it goes away automatically. Not that it appears for no reason at all.
