Problem with stop error 0x0000008e on windows 7.

My computer with windows 7 has been working fine till recently when I have begun to have a blue screen of death pop up while I have my computer on normal mode, the stop error code of 0x0000008e with the rest of the codes available if they are needed, and my system restore doesn't work so I can't do that, I have already ran all my spyware, malware, and antivirus and have come up cold, my safe modes work so I can operate in there. If any further info is needed that can help solve this i can provide, but has anyone got any solutions I can use?

In addition the Gerry C J Cornell's excellent advice, please check the following:

You have a Linksys RangePlus Wireless USB Network Adapter.  Win7 does not like these devices and when coupled with older (Vista era) drivers will spit out many BSOD's.  For testing please:
- uninstall the Linksys software and physically remove the USB device from your system.
- either use a PCI/PCIe wireless card that plugs into your motherboard (they are more powerful and more reliable than the USB typ) or use a very long wired internet cord for your connection while testing.

I cannot tell the type of hard drive that you have - it's a 74 gB drive.  If it's an SSD, please post back with the make and model.  If it's not an SSD, then let us know that also.

It's most likely that there is/was an infection on your system and that it caused some damage to the system files.  Please run several of the free antivirus scans from here to ensure that all traces of infections are removed:  http://www.carrona.org/malware.html

Your McAfee is having troubles, please uninstall it.  You have the Microsoft Security Essentials installed - and you should only use one antivirus (they may conflict).   Also, please check to ensure that your Windows Firewall is on after uninstalling McAfee (only use one firewall at a time also).

There is a error with one of your ISATAP adapters in Device Manager.  Please look for it under Network Adapters.  To fix it, right click on it and select "Uninstall".  If needed it will reinstall when you reboot (but most times it's not needed and it doesn't come back).

Several "BAD_DUMP" reported in the WER section of MSINFO32.  Please run this free hard drive diagnostic on ALL of your hard drives (both internal and external):  http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html

Finally, Gigabyte's EasySaver utility is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems - please uninstall it.  Also, Gigabyte's EasyTune6 (ET6) program is frequently associated with these errors - so please uninstall it alos.

If overclocking, please remove the overclock until the system has been stabilized.  Feel free to resume the overclock after the system is definitely stable.

Good luck!

You have three anti-virus products installed. I can see McAfee, Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. These will conflict. McAfee is the most problematic of the three. Use the McAfee removal tool:
http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331

You have the problem described in the next link:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/mse-protect_start/mpks-files/13717285-e02c-4147-9b37-72143a6e62db

Access Device Manager and remove the MpKsI????????, all with a Code 24 error.

Type Device Manager in the Search box above the Start button and press ENTER. Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? If yes what is the Device Error code.

To see Hidden Devices (Non Plug and Play Drivers) you need to select View, Show Hidden Devices. It is necessary to do this every time you open Device Manager if you need to see them.

A further complication can be Ghosted Devices –installed but not connected!

Is your copy of Malwarebytes the free or purchased version?

Update these drivers
Realtek Function driver for Realtek Azalia audio chip to v6409 released 8 July 2011
Realtek LAN Driver to version 7.049.0927.2011 released 21 March 2012

When you have completed the above will you please upload further reports to your Sky Drive.

Type System information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. It will be a txt file.

Please download and run Driver View and upload a copy of the report it produces to your Sky Drive.
