I have the same problem as stated by GF858 , concerning the loss of printing ability after installation of update KB4557957. Is there a way to stop this update from installing , at least long enough for Microsoft to come up with a fix for this, if they ever do!

You may try to temporary pause updates to avoid reinstalling the updates again.

Windows 10 Home with May 2019 Update lets you pause updates for up to 7 days and 35 days if you use Windows 10 Pro.

You can also use the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to prevent the update from being reinstalled.

Printer problems since KB4557957 appear known.

Do Microsoft have an update on this issue?

I have uninstalled this update and paused updates for 7 days.

Do I need to permanently stop this update?

I'm sorry I do not have an answer for you, I'm waiting for Microsoft to come up with a fix for this problem. I personally have hidden the update and so far have not had any problem, but that's not to say I will not in the future.

How can I keep from having to uninstall this every day?  I just want to stop the automatic updates when I'm not looking.
