Windows Update Error Code 2 trying to install Security Update for .NET Framework 4 (KB2160841)

This particular update repeatedly fails to install. I've tried rebooting several times but the install still fails. The linked to the help doc for Windows Update error code 2 is completely unhelpful and refers only to receive the error in the context of installing a language pack.

Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

I had this problem. I went to uninstall/change a program and clicked on repair for Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile . After the repair finished, the update installed. Try this before  uninstalling anything.

Hello jacvc, thanks the repair of Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile "worked".  (1) I went to the add/remove program, right click on Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile, which gave me a choice of Uninstall/Change, when I right click it. (2) Then when I clicked it, I was giving a choice to repair the Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile and I did.  Took a little while to complete the repair about 4 to 6 minutes.  Finally, it asked me to check for the newest update.  (3) I checked the update center and the update was successful.  Now, my Secunia Personal Software Inspector state, that pc was 100% up to date.  Thank you everybody for all your input to this issue.
