How to disabled Windows forced reboot

I left my laptop on overnight and it has self reboot by itself.

I knew there was updates from the "Update History"

How do just turn off forced updates & forced reboot

I have already tried many ways to turn off self updates. I tried some recommendation via youtube to modify various settings inside registry, installed shutdownguard and yet it manage to over ride shutdown. I am still unable to disable the "active hours"

On serious issue, I lost my design work which I was unable to recover back

I just want a simple solution: Just stop forced updates & forced reboot without my permission

You can't fight that, except maybe by making a Win 10 Installation USB of your current version of Windows & doing a clean install with it. But I'm not sure that even works permanently. MSFT detected your current version of Windows is two versions too old, & it did a stealth install of (I forget what) which seeks to lift you to the next version of Windows -- the one that is only one version too old, I believe. What version is it now at "START, Settings, System, About"?

You should make a Windows system image backup, then let it happen. If the new version fails to install well, you'll have two ways to recover back to current state.

I have disabled automatic updates on all my devices, both Home and Pro.
If you would like to disable updates, create a new text file on your desktop. Rename it to append the .txt to .reg. Then paste the following inside of the file:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
"NoAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001

Afterwards,double click to import the changes into the Windows registry and restart.

You can still perform them manually, but this will give you the option to update on your own time.

Another method is to manually edit the registry: Run regedit.exe (will need to be an administrator) > go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows > create new key under Windows called WindowsUpdate > create new key under WindowsUpdate called AU > create a DWORD value named NoAutoUpdate with value of 1.

Alternatively, if you use Windows Pro, you can modify Windows policy to disable automatic updates: Run gpedit.msc > Computer configuration > Windows Components > Windows Updates > Configure automatic updates - disabled.

As for preventing Windows from restarting automatically after installing an update, you, go to the updates panel (Start > Settings > Updates & security > Advanced options > turn off "Restart this device as soon as possible when a restart is required..."
