Hard Drive Filling Up with Temp log files

My HP Laptop harddrive is filling up with Event Log files in the Windows Temp folder.  The harddrive fills totally within 2 days running.  Solution
Hi, michaelthompson5

My name is Maritza and I am an Independent Advisor. I would be happy to help you today.

Windows 10 has a new, easy-to-use tool for freeing up disk space on your computer. It removes temporary files, system logs, previous Windows installations, and other files you probably don’t need.
To find this new tool, head to Settings > System > Storage. Click the “Free Up Space Now”
Windows automatically scans your PC for unnecessary data that it can removed to free up space. Unlike the old Disk Cleanup tool, this screen only shows data you can actually remove, and it scans both user files like your Recycle Bin and system data like old Windows installations at the same time.

Let us know if these steps help you to resolve the issue.

Hi Michael

Are those evtx files that are filling your Temp folder?

This is a known issue with the Windows Store, please see this solution from Microsoft, the file extension named is different, but the solution is the same:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/445814...

If that does not resolve this for you, please use the solution on this thread

Hello,

First of all, try the recommendation provided by Microsoft in this support article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4458149/windows-10-low-disk-space-error-due-to-a-full-temp-folder

Also, make sure Storage Sense feature is enabled so that Windows can automatically free up space from temporary files:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/storage-at-microsoft/windows-10-and-storage-sense/ba-p/428270

Hope this helps!
