Disabling monitor auto detection in windows 10

Please be informed that, Transient Multimon Manager (TMM) is exist in the Registry of Windows 10. To locate this you can follow the below path.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM

Follow the below steps and check if you can disable Automatic Monitor Detection.

1) Press the Windows + R button to get the Command prompt.

2) Type regedit then press Enter

3) Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM

4) Look for the value "UseIViewHelper" and change it to 0 or if you don't have that key then simply right click in the TMM sub key and create a new DWORD giving it the name UseIViewHelper then set its value to 0

Note: To re-enable Automatic Monitor Detection, simply go back to the same reg key and change the value of "UseIViewHelper" to 1

Nice. So many times in these forums I see totally useless elementary troubleshooting tips that have nothing to do with the problem, because they're on some script. I know, because it's happened to me. It's great to see a real answer!

I have windows10 and trying to find TMM too. Checked the registry path you gave, but there's no TMM in there.

There's TermServLicensing and the next one is TouchPrediction.

I'm having trouble with my dual monitor setup. When ever my computer wakes up from sleep, all the windows have shifted to my primary monitor, leaving secondary monitor empty. I found a thread where people had success fixing it by turning TMM off. Now I just need to find it.

If it's not located here where could it be?

I have the same problem. Win 10, three screens and all my stuff moves from screen 1 to screen 2. Screen 3 is the primary. 

It happens when I sign out and let the screens go black and then log back in. 

Was a solution to this found?

I am unable to find TMM on Windows 10 and the screen flash on login is irritating :(

I've tried adding the registry but no luck unfortunately...

Got the same issue.

No TMM in registry, making a fake copy doesn't help. I even did a CTRL+F for the Key referenced and found nothing at all.

I am sure Microsoft is not going to fix this. I believe they don't see it as a problem...

I have the same issue, no TMM in windows 10, help will be much appreciated as this is very annoying.
