How to Browse Conversation History in Skype for Business

How can I view my chat history on Skype for Business. Have read here that I need to do the following:

To browse your conversation history:

  1. Under Contacts or Recent, click the contact or group you want to see the conversation history for. Your instant messages and call history with that contact or group are displayed in the main window.
  2. If you can’t see the person or group in the Contacts or Recent list, type the name into the Search box, or scroll to the bottom and click Show earlier messages.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find my Contacts or Recent list. I've also checked my Conversations folder in Outlook and it's empty.

Hi pprendeville,

If it is Skype for Business, generally, to view chat history, you may right-click a contact->choose “Find Previous Conversations” item in menu list. You may also view history via: Open Skype for Business->above the search box, click the Conversations tab. For more information, please view: Find a previous Skype for Business conversation. You can find conversations in “Conversation History” folder on Outlook as well if you are using Office 365 account.

Since you couldn’t find the history in Conversation History folder, please check options settings on Skype for Business: Settings->Tools->Options->Personal->make sure the “Save IM conversations in my email Conversation History folder” checkbox is ticked. If it isn’t ticked, the history would not be able to save in your folder on Outlook.

Thanks,

Anna
