OneNote 2016 - There aren't any sections here

My notebooks are stored in This PC > Documents > OneNote Notebooks

And the sections are stored in those "notebook folders":

Now here are the problems:

1. When I open the notebooks in one drive in "notebook 2016", I go the error message of There aren't any sections here

Solutions I have tried:

1. re-sign in the account

2. open those "section.one" files individually, and copy paste to a "new section" that I created., but the "new section" just always disappears after a sec or two:

Example:

Created a new sec

AFTER ONE SEC

Answer
You can't just copy notebook folders and section (,ONE) files to your OneDrie folder. That's not the way to move OneNote notebooks to OneDrive and won't work at all.

Notebooks on OneDrive have to be stored in a special hidden format that can only be created by OneNote 2016 itself.

First move your notebooks away from the OneDrive folder to a local folder again.

Then open the local notebook in OneNote 2016 and use "File" "Share" to move the notebook properly to OneDrive. The on-screen instructions will guide you through the process.

Although OneNote notebooks (when stored locally) seem to be a generic file structure, they are handled quite differently than Word or Excel files.
