Directory Sync is Currently in a pending disable state

Now I am getting this error while deploying new Azure AD connect on my DC

[ERROR] PerformConfigurationPageViewModel: Directory synchronization is currently in a pending disable state for this directory. Please wait until directory synchronization has been fully disabled before trying again.

Hello KrasenTsonevski,

Based on the error message you provided above, as far as I know generally the issue may occur if directory synchronization isn't completely activated or deactivated. And it may take up to 72 hours to complete the activation or deactivation.  So first please wait for it to be refreshed from backend with some more patience, after that please check again to see if it make any difference, thanks.

On another hand, if the issue persists after 72 hours, we need to further check it from the backend and I'd like to help you do more research, thanks.

Best Regards,

Oliver

Hello Oliver,

Thanks for the support, I read this for the required time of 72 hours.

The problem continues, for more than a week, what do you need, logs, configuration?

BR,

Krasen Tsonevski

Hello KrasenTsonevski,

Apologized for the late response because of OOF, and thanks for your updates with patience.

If you still experience this problem, in this case may I double confirm have you checked your Azure AD synchronization status via powershell?  If not, first please try to check it and then see the current status.  For how to check it, you can refer to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2654338/directory-synchronization-for-office-365-azure-or-intune-can-t-be-acti >  ( powershell commands in CAUSE) >  (Get-MSOLCompanyInformation).DirectorySynchronizationEnabled  If the result is True, in this case please temporarily disable the Directory Synchronization and then please wait for hafl an hour to re-install the AAD connect sync tool to check if the issue disappars, thanks.  For how to turn off directory synchronization, please refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/enterprise/turn-off-directory-synchronization.

On another hand, if the issue persists, I'd like to collect your current synchronization status, please try to run the commands 1.  (Get-MSOLCompanyInformation).DirectorySynchronizationStatus  2, (Get-MSOLCompanyInformation).DirectorySynchronizationEnabled  After that please share the both results with screenshots here, thanks.

Best Regards,

Oliver

I am having the same challenges. I have waited the 72 hours and already verified via Powershell. I am going in to week two of being in a pending disable status.

Please advise.

Hello Soto85,

Based on your description, my understanding is you have run the Azure AD powershell command  (Get-MSOLCompanyInformation).DirectorySynchronizationStatus  and got the "pendingdisable" output. As far as I know this is a known issue with Exchange Online after the expected enablement time period has passed.  For more details, please refer to https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2654338/directory-synchronization-for-office-365-azure-or-intune-can-t-be-acti.

In this case, I'd like to share some more information with you in Private Message (PM), please check it at your convenience, thanks.

Best Regards,

Oliver

Same experience.

Best you can do it being patient and wait until it is done. In my case it took 47h.

I tried throwing a new vm, re-syncing from a fresh new AD and it made things worse.

it shall fix itself :)

you can check its status every now and then in Powershell

(Get-MSOLCompanyInformation).DirectorySynchronizationEnabled

Once it is done the status should be "Disabled". Then you can reinstall Azure Connect and try again.

Hello guys!

I Have problems with installing Microsoft Azure Backup Server from my site memesbams.com. The error occurred:

“Report configuration failed.

Verify that SQL Server Reporting Services is installed properly and that it is running.

ID: 812”

I have analyzed many topics about the error, but I could not find any useful information.

What I have done already:

-  Ensured that the SQL Server Reporting Services were running properly.

-  Made sure that port 443 was listed for SSL.

-  Checked if any apps have used 443 (run netstat –anob at a command prompt).

-  Restarted the system.

None of the above worked. What else can I do?
