Netflix Subtitles Not Working Properly on Surface RT

I have the latest Netflix app for my Microsoft Surface (32gb) running Windows RT 8.1

When I use Subtitles, half the time they do not appear; I end up missing dialogue as one sentence out of a paragraph will get displayed.

Running Netflix through the Internet Explorer browser has the same effect: Not all subtitles are showing.

The subtitles for the show I am watching, and other shows, work fine on my friends Toshiba tablet.

Any help is greatly appreciate.

This problem is fairly consistent with both Surface and iPad users.

I personally experience the problem 85% of the time due to the fact that I watch Japanese anime most of the time. I watch in in Japanese with English subtitles, and for up to 30 seconds at a time the subtitles will disappear.

I have found that moving my cursor or touching the screen on my Surface restores the subtitles (for a short time) and rewinding to the missed section has the same effect.

I got a new internet router from Comcast two weeks ago with the highest available internet capabilities for personal use. The only logical conclusion is an error with either Netflix itself, or the app not being able to communicate properly from the Surface.

It seems this is an issue only the app developer can fix, which could take months to produce an update that actually fixes the problem.
