Polling in Microsoft Teams - How to include External Users

I've been using the Polly function to create polls in the Teams chat. It works great for internal users.  We are hosting a meeting via Teams with external guests, but the poll function states:  "If this meeting contains any external guests they will not be able to respond to the poll due to a Microsoft Teams limitation." Is there a way to work around this? Or set-up Teams differently?

Answer

Hi Shannon Jaax,

The guest experience has limitations by design. Guest users only have some limited permission in Teams, this cannot be changed. Here is a table compares the Teams functionality available for an organization's team members and its guests:

To workaround this, we recommend you use Microsoft Forms to use the full features for external guest users. I understand that this may caused many inconveniences to you, to help us improve our function, you can submit your idea in Microsoft Teams UserVoice. Your suggestion is important for us.

Best Regards,

Sylvie
