Term "unassigned" dealing with Access 2007

Greetings.

 

I created a new database using Access 2007.  In the Navigation pane, I see the term that my new database is under the heading "unassigned object".  Please advise what this term means and/or what it relates to?  Also, is this a concern or perhaps a indication that my database is 'incomplete' or can bu accessed/improved upon easier is NOT 'unassigned'.  Thank you.

In 2007, MS introduced a new 'object browser' named navigation pane.  In this navigation pane, you have the ability to create your own custom groups and assign object (tables, queries, form,...) to these groups.  As such, you can organize your object as you see fit to facilitate development.  Any objects that are not assigned to a group are thrown into the "unassigned object".

This also implies that you have selected Custom in your navigation pane.

 

If you click on the drop-down arrow in the navigation pane next to the word Custom and select Object Type, you should be back in a more familiar format.

 

Don't worry though, nothing is wrong with your db just because your objects are unassigned.
