Build 18290 and 18298 breaks Kaspersky Antivirus / Total Security - GSOD

Kaspersky Antivirus software causes GSODs with KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE.

When the software is already installed on a previous build and Windows is updated to 18290/18298, after the successful update and the last reboot it gives the GSOD.

When installing the software after Windows is updated to 18290/18298 and restarting the PC, after login it immediately crashes with BSOD.

Recovery option doesn't work (only 3 icons, no labels), startup repair doesn't fix anything and also safe mode doesn't work anymore/can't uninstall Kaspersky.

For now, stick to Windows Defender and wait for Kaspersky and Microsoft to fix this error.

It has always been advised to NOT use 3rd party AV,

even the government has banned the use of Kaspersky

on their official machines.

Also, Microsoft has changed things so that if a 3rd party

AV does not meet certain standards it will be blocked.

Could be what's happening to you.

Reply this is a problem on the last few updates.

I restart my computer till I can eventually login with my password. As soon as I am in, I exit Kaspersky in the taskbar in the right bottom corner. The system is then stable till your next restart, when it start all over again.

It takes about 20 restarts to get to this point. I also get the blue screen with the tabs with nothing written on it.

I have consider uninstalling Kaspersky. I seems like other AV programs give the same error.

During previous updates I removed Kaspersky AV and the problem was resolved.
