The read operation will fail with error -1018 (0xfffffc06). If this condition persists then please restore the database from a previous backup. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

Answer
Answer
The exchange one is not very relevant to the issue.

What you need to is
1) Stop the Windows Search service
2) Remove that corrupt file
3) It quite often automatically restarts but if it doesn't start it again

At that point it will throw multiple Search errors
"The Windows Search Service cannot load the property store information. ..."
"The plug-in in <Search.JetPropStore> cannot be initialized."
etc. before it finally throws a warning.
"The Windows Search Service is starting up and attempting to remove the old search index {Reason: Index Corruption}. "
It will then clear out all the files in the directory and then recreate them.
