original title: Windows 7 BSOD. Cannot boot into normal or safe mode.
Hello. I have the famous BSOD problem. It comes up at the windows login screen ever time I try to boot, and it will not let me boot into normal or safe mode. It has given me several differen codes. 0x0000007E (0x FFFFFFFFC000001D, 0xFFFFF80003c7FDAB, 0xFFFFF880037DD608, 0xFFFFF880037DCE60), is the one that occurs the most. However 0x70860002 occurs often as does 0x000000D1. I have as well gotten 0x000000BE and 0x00000050. There may have been other that I just didn't pay attention to.
This all started suddenly one night when I was on the web useing Firefox. I have a Toshiba Satellite A500/ST5608. I have had it about a year now. I have not reacently updated anything, installed anything or changed anything. I have tried resetting the system to a previous date and that did not help. I have run system debugging, memory check and on the memory check it gave me some screen about an error that is can not fix automatically, however I did not write down exactly what it said.
One thing that I have done. I got a cable that I can use to connect the HD to the USB of a friends computer so I could runa virus scan and try to back up information. The virus scan found to viruses (not sure what kind but it said they were not serious) which it removed. Made no difference in booting. I was ably to back up my most important business information, however cannot back up e-mail, contacts, or firefox bookmarks as it tells me access is denied when I try to access the folders that information is in.
I tried removeing my ram one stick, then the other and it made no difference.
Any help with getting this thing going without loosing my e-mail, contact and bookmarks would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
