Unable to download Security Update for Windows XP SP3 (KB4500331)

I am trying to download and install the Security Update for Windows XP SP3 (KB4500331)*. When I click Download, I see the following message:

[Error number: 8DDD0001]

I am running Windows XP SP3, and my browser is Internet Explorer version 8.0.6001.18702.

How do I get this critical patch?

I found the patch at http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4500331.

The patch I previously tried came from a news website. Apparently it was munged.
