i just recently bought an xbox and i cant connect to xbox live because it says there 'is a violation of terms of use', can anyone help?

If your xbox have been banned, there has been a serious violation.
Microsoft do not give any information regarding suspensions.
Ways to get banned:
- Console tampering: Physically opening the Xbox and modifying it to play illegitimate software.
- Online fraud: Attempting to social engineer users, take over Xbox LIVE accounts, or other fraudulent activities.
- Repeat egregious violations: Multiple actions taken on accounts on the console by the Enforcement team for disrupting the service or impacting users.
If you bought it second hand the previous owner could've violated the terms of use and therefore got banned.
If you bought a completely new one, this is very strange indeed.
