Problem calling from U.S. to phone in Belize

To rectify this issue, we highly suggest for you to set up your caller ID and to use a different device. Please follow the steps below:

To set up caller identification using your mobile number:

• Sign in to your account.
• In the Manage features section, click Caller ID.

• Select your country from the drop-down list.
• Enter your mobile number in the text box and click Verify number.

• You will receive an SMS text message on your phone containing a confirmation code. Enter this code in the field displayed.
• Click Verify.

• If you entered the code correctly, you will see a confirmation message, and your Caller ID will be activated in 24 hours.

I'm not calling on a phone. I'm trying to use Skype on my computer, which used to work fine for calling home to Belize.

Are you suggesting that I use a phone or get a Skype phone number?

It sounds like you're assuming I'm using a mobile phone to call. If I use my laptop, is there a way to get a text message back for verification?

Sorry I'm not a Skype-whiz or mobile phone expert. Why did Skype work fine for calling Belize before and doesn't work now?

I just tried you suggestion and think it worked. The phone call wasn't answered (my wife is sick and probably asleep early), but I got voicemail instead of the message I got before.

 If it worked in the past and not now, that simply means.

1.  The owner of the phone number (your wife) accidentally or intentionally blocked all anonymous calls (i.e. no Caller ID).

2.  The phone number provider decided to block all anonymous calls for all their customers by default, to limit spam. This has been an increasing trend around the world.
