I use outlook.com with my own eMail-address. A few days ago i got an eMail that some action is required and i have to reconnect my Outlook 2016 to outlook.com.
when i try to do so, it doesn't work with my primary eMail-address - not any outlook.com address.
My last try was to use the * (at) live.com address i created together with the outlook.com account but this was even worse. I now have an account in Outlook 2016 that looks somewhat like this outlook_8723XYZ345786ABD (at) outlook.com. This is not only looking terrible, if you have more than one account it is impossible to differentiate between the account and i always get an error, that there is no certificate that can handle this eMail-address (i am signing my outgoing eMail), new eMail will always have this eMail-address as sender.
I tried to add an autodiscovery entry to my domain, but that also didn't work. I don't know if i entered the correct server as MS isn't supplying their customers with such relevant information. Ok, i used my live.com address which generated that ugly address above, so it's very likely that even if it had worked MS would have crippled this address too.
I was really happy to hear that outlook.com now acts as an exchange server and not exchange active sync anymore but now i realized that everything would be better than that disaster.
Is there a way to get Outlook 2016 to work with outlook.com and the eMail-address configured there?
edit: I've changed the email address format so it can not be removed because it is important for understanding the problem. It weren't real e-mail addresses anyway.
