Windows Update Error 0x8024402f

Running Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview, build 9926. When going to update.microsoft.com I get the following message: Thanks for your interest in getting updates from us.

Sorry, this website isn't designed to work with your operating system.

Running windows update from settings I get error code 0x8024402f. There are no options to choose how often I get the preview updates.

I've been struggling with this issue since updating to build 9926. None of the solutions I have found have helped. Then, for the fun of it, I decided to uncheck "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows" in Advanced Options under Windows Update. Lo and behold, it worked! Updating just fine now.

tl;dr: Windows Update > Advanced Options > uncheck "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows"

I found the solution, Proxy server settings was culprit in my case.

Even though proxy settings are given through settings->Network & Internet->proxy it didn't take it.

I verified proxy setting by below command (run command prompt as administrator)

netsh winhttp show proxy

When I ran above command I got below error

Current WinHTTP proxy settings:

    Direct access (no proxy server).

I have to give proxy settings with the command

netsh winhttp set proxy proxy-server=123.154.165.11:8080

note: Provide Proxy server IP address along with the port that you are going to use.

Now I'm able to get the updates.

Still waiting on downloading the updates.
