This has been really frustrating, I hope there is a simple solution.
At some point in the past month or so, either a Windows10 update, or an iOS update (I'm on 9.2) has made it impossible for me to import photos from my iPhone 6S to any Windows10 PC.
I can see the iPhone in Windows File Explorer, I can navigate to the internal storage there (DCIM/100APPLE/) - and I can see the individual photo files (albeit with default icons for .TIF and .JPG), but I cannot move them to my computer.
- If I try to drag and drop onto desktop, I get "The device is unreachable"
- If I right click on the phone in File Explorer and select Import Pictures and Videos, the Windows dialog comes up scanning the data, it tells me I have 280 new photos, and when I choose to import items, it tells me the device is unreachable.
- If I try to set one of the images on the phone as my background, I get the same error, but with the additional 0x80070141 code
I've tried running the troubleshooters (they find nothing), uninstalling and reinstalling the device, ensuring I'm on USB 2.0, changing cables etc. And as noted, this now happens on 2 desktop Win10 PC's and 1 Win10 laptop - and I absolutely used to be able to import subsequent to upgrading to Windows 10, so it's definitely something that has changed recently.
Does anyone have suggestions for a fix?
