You'll need to define "latest."  By that do you mean 14.36.26.0 that came out on the 1st, or do you mean a build that's in the middle of trickling out today and tomorrow (the Store often doesn't make a given version available to all at the same time)?

I do not see it in last week's build.

Given your ability to push features out onto existing versions, there's no guarantee that we're talking about a version from this week.

Update: The top post was edited to indicate the version. So this is one of those cases where the feature is just being pushed out, apparently gradually, and no newer version is needed.

I wonder if it will allow you to "close to tray" to prevent accidental closure?

1) I'm not seeing it. Is this feature being rolled out to all? Or are you A/B testing, or whatever you call your intermittent roll out of features.

2) I see you put "Skype for Windows 10," in your title, and "available for store app for Windows 10 PC," in the sub-header which appears after we open the post, a bit more clarity. Thanks.

But.....you still could be more clear.

That is, if I got this right, this task bar feature is already in Skype for Windows 7+ for "desktop," or whatever you are calling it, right? Just say it. 

And, again, these word choices:  the "desktop" app also works on Windows 10? I gather for "desktop" and "store" are 'terms of art' used by professionals in the software world. (I'm even starting to get it). But for new people, these terms are confusing, meaning they don't seem to mean what they say. For example "My store app ends up on the my desktop computer, so...….?"

Do you see why it would be helpful if you were rigorously clear? 

And, also true: I happen to think you people know what you are doing and are making good progress. 

Finally, I'd really like a reply to my post on the "People You May Know" feature. What sort of manipulations are you doing with our contact information? If this so-called algorithm is used solely to help me and other users match up with friends of friends, (and we can turn it off), then fine. Just say so.

However, if this is some sort of way to create a data base (or create "value" for your") FOR ANY OTHER purpose, intended or accidental, or if the said data base is used, or could be used, by anyone but me, then say so. Just be clear and transparent.

(Obviously, I hope it's not. Don't be a Facebook, ok?)

Correct me if I am wrong, 1) until now, the "directory" of Skype contacts is solely a way to find people, analogous to the phone book in the past....AND NOTHING ELSE. 2) the People You May Know feature is being added SOLELY to use an algorithm to suggest possible friends of friends to individual users. Right?

That wouldn't make any sense. Plus, you can just hide the icon to get it off the taskbar.

What do you mean "hide the icon"?

Try it, open Sticky Notes on your machine. It behaves just like any open window, even though it's not exactly the same.

If I open a Word Doc, I expect it to appear in my taskbar as I'll work on it and then be done with it. If I have a Sticky Note on my desktop, I intend to keep it there and not taking up valuable taskbar real-estate.

I thought you were asking for Skype to not have its own tray icon (one of the top requests is for the UWP app to finally get that feature) and instead share the icon somehow with another program (you were just talking about code). Anyway, it doesn't matter, it's finally here, though I still don't actually see it (rolling out slowly).

Certain programs warrant tray icons and certain ones don't. Word, you're right, doesn't. An always-on app like Skype, particularly since its icon changes color according to your status, while allowing you to right-click it to change status, clearly warrants one. But you can always hide tray icons or disable it in preferences to not get it in the first place (not that that preference exists in the UWP version yet).

Can you please share which UWP app version you are on? We want to ensure that the feature is enabled for you so that you can have sys tray in your hands.

I mentioned it in my first post (I try to avoid citing the 8.x version, which matches the one you mentioned, since it only adds confusion when talking about UWP).

BTW, someone else mentioned not seeing it yet, either.

I'm sure this is just one of those things enabled over time. I've seen this happen many times.
