Excel Online defaulting to American date input

I'm hoping someone can help with this issue as it's driving me crackers! I am using Excel Online in Onedrive for Business and I am being forced to input dates in mm/dd/yyyy format. If I input a date of 31st January 2019 as 31/01/2019 it is not recognised as a date. If I input 2nd March 2019 as 02/03/2019 it swaps the month and day round and accepts it as 3rd February. I am using Windows 10 and my regional settings are set to English (United Kingdom). I have gone through all the site/account settings I can find and everything is set to English (United Kingdom). I don't know where else to look. Please help! Everything works fine in the desktop version but as soon as I open the sheet online I get the date issue. If I set up a new spreadsheet online it's the same issue too.
Hi Claire_723
I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

Excel Online takes its settings from Onedrive. Can you login to Onedrive @ https://onedrive.live.com

Click Wheel (Gear) symbol at top right and see what is the Settings here.

Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.
Sincerely yours,
Vijay A. Verma @ https://excelbianalytics.com

Hi Vijay,

That link took me straight to my personal Onedrive (it did say English (United Kingdom). However, this problem occurs in my Onedrive for Business. If I log into my Onedrive for business account and click the gear icon there is no option for regional settings in the menu.

That seems similar with my issue with Regional Settings

In my case, the formulas happen to be in Dutch.. which makes Excel Online pretty unusable for me.

It's mind-boggling that something as simple as changing a spreadsheet language is apparently such a complex issue there's actually no answer for it -___- (it's solved in 2 clicks in Google Sheets)
