Report - Next Xbox Debuting in 2012 At E3

Microsoft's successor to the Xbox 360 will be revealed at E3 2012 and developer Crytek is making a next-generation Timesplitters 4, according to sources speaking to Videogamer.com. A "high-ranking industry source at Crytek" told the website that while specifications for the next console have not been finalized, Crytek is using Microsoft's DirectX 11 for next-gen development. The source says Microsoft will announce the new Xbox in the next year, likely at E3 2012.

Windows 8 to Feature Xbox Live Integration When Microsoft unveiled the new Xbox Live dashboard at their E3 conference, one thing I couldn't help but notice was the similarity in the UI with that of the Windows Phone 7 devices and, in turn, the recently revealed Windows 8 interface. It turns out that Xbox Live and Windows 8 have more in common than we thought, as the two are destined for coexistence on your Microsoft PC or tablet.

Don't jump the gun too much on the next console being shown at next year's E3 just yet.

As for the "Windows 8 using Xbox LIVE" part, the whole "same UI" thing is just Microsoft integrating the Metro UI in more of their products. Zune HD and Zune Software have done this before already. Very doubtful that just because the next Xbox Dashboard and Windows 8 are using the Metro UI means Xbox LIVE will be on PC.

Why have Xbox LIVE on PC when you have Games for Windows-LIVE?

Keyword "BELIEVES" And why would crytek use DX 11 Crysys 2 doesnt even use have it FAIL.. and those windows 8 pics are for the tablet edition

After Crysis 2,I could care less about Crytek. And after seeing the new dashboard, I just wanna throw up. Everything coming from MS starting with these forums have been such a let down. Cramming Kinect down our throats, the ugly new dash thats coming. It's all been a let down in my opinion.

that dash is for tablets no way in hell would they make the desktop version like that . If they did im staying with windows 7 and slowly start going to MAC 100%

I think there's two UI interfaces, the tablet one, and a Win7 style interface. I'm guessing that on desktops and laptops, there will be a tablet-style "welcome page", that you can bypass to get right to your desktop.

I doubt MS announces a new console next e3.  They want to push people getting on Xbox live and integrate into the windows 8 tablet.  They're not gonna want to have people buy a new operating system, tablet and console all in the same year.   I think it's 2015 when MS and sony are supposed to come out with a new system

A few developers said the same thing about this years E3. Didn't happen. I don't expect it to happen next year either.
