Games on Demand Bugged + Save Game files missing / corrupt

I keep getting a "can't launch"  error message almost everytime I try to launch a Game on Demand.   The only one that is working right now is Fable 3 and Modern Warfare 2, but my Save File on Fable 3 has gone missing since the spring update for some reason.  The first time I tried to start the game it said something along the lines of my save being corrupt and it deleted my save once I clicked OK, then it just disappeared from my Hard Drive all together.  I also still can't play any of my games from my disks without getting a disk unreadable error...

 

Some pictures.  Also, I just uninstalled GTA IV and Re-Downloaded it from the Marketplace and this is what happens.  + A picture of it on my memory unit.

How long have you been experiencing this specfic issue? Did it coincide with the save file being corrupted? Also, are you using a different console or memory unit than what the game was orignally downloaded on?

It has only started happening after I got the spring update.

Yes, it is happening at the same time.  I am scared to start any games I have save files on right now, because it might say they are corrupt.  Even though I can only start 1 game.

I only recently got the 16GB Sandisk Drive, but I have only had 1 Xbox since 2005.

I transfered it to my Hard Drive and I get the same Can't Launch message.

When was the update applied, exactly? And are you getting any other error codes besides the disc unreadable message? If so, please include them in this thread so we can take a look.

And to be sure, are you encoutnering 'disc unreadable' only when playing GonD games, or with all games? Can your console read DVDs without issue?

And I'm a little confused by your last message--did you call phone support? If so, what did they say specifically?

I think it was the 22nd.

Other error codes?  No.  Other error messages? Yes, "Cant Launch"

I am getting the Disc Unreadable error message when I try to play ***ANY*** game off a disc.

I can play Modern Warfare 2 fine, and that is a game on demand.  But, my other games on demand are saying "Cant Launch"  like in the op.

I e-mailed, so it told me to call, and when I called the person who I talked to said it was a Hardware problem, but my other friends have convinced me it is a Firmware problem.  

 

EDIT:  He also said that it couldn't have been the update, but everything has been working up until the update.

didn't the new update include a firmware update?

Anyways, contact Microsoft and they will get you a new console. The update has affected allot of users. Since they have a bad habit of choosing new parts vendors every week, putting out an update that flashes firmware is a seriously bad idea (and probably an expensive idea since they have to replace your console)

My old 20gb 360 still reads games after the update, so it's not dependant on xbox model, but the disc drive it uses.

I did call but I was never offered a replacement,  he looked up my console and said what I already knew, that my warranty hasn't been active for 4 years.

Oh by the way, this could be useful,  When I put the Game in, it will launch and then just take me to a white screen and it will say disc unreadable then send me to the dashboard.

*On all games off disc*

I'll call support for the 3rd time, because that could've been why they didn't know what was wrong.

I'm downloading some games on demand because I am waiting for a box to be sent to me, and all the new things I download are working but my Fable 3 and GTA still don't work.

Borderlands Game on Demand works.
