Constant disconnects round 2

So my old thread got obliterated, but the problem remains. On my personal network, my Xbox disconnects at random times for no reason. It could be a few minutes, sometimes it's gone hours before disconnecting.

My setup:

Verizon Westell 6100G modem

Netgear WGR614

Xbox 360 S 250 GB

Things I tried:

Power cycling modem/router

Returning modem to standard mode (was in bridge mode). This closed my NAT and did not resolve the issue.

Swapped to a different network. The Xbox has had no issues with this one.

UPnP is enabled. There are no forwarded ports (I had NAT issues before that port forwarding did not solve).

Parent's network:

Verizon Westell 6100

LanPro 5-port Ethernet hub

Ideas? Why would my Xbox suddenly find issue with a network it's been on for about a year, and have no issue with another network?

Apologies if these questions were asked in your old thread, but in any case, the info would be good to have here. Have you contacted your ISP to see if anything has changed on their end since you began experiencing the issue? Secondly, can you run and post the results of a connection speed test, so that we can ensure your connection speed isn't the source of the issue? Thanks!

Sounds to me like the router is starting to go. Your router might be having problems giving an uninterrupted signal to the xbox.

Mister Fitzer: Calling Verizon was one of the first things I did. There were no problems.

Shenanigans: I hadn't considered that, actually. Strange that it wouldn't have issues with my desktop, though, which has had no connection problems whatsoever.

when your computer loses internet it wont notify you right away. It will keep trying to reconnect for a min or 2 then say you lost connection. If it reconnects you wont notice anything. The second your xbox loses internet it kicks you out and prompts you to sign in again.

Hi,

You should (as a test) simplify your set-up can you flip the Westell back to routing mode and wire direct to it as a test to see if it still happens?

Shadowman: It worked. Looks like the router needs replacing.

Good stuff that is progress. I would hold off on replacing the router for now though. First up I would get the very latest firmware from Netgear for it, then reset it to factory defaults (this will wipe all settings and put it back to how it was when you unboxed it)

Then ensure UPnP is enabled on the router and set your Xbox ip address to auto and see how it goes, obviously bridge the modem as well

See how that goes for you

Too late. I bought a 5-port ethernet switch (Linksys SE1500). It works, but my NAT is moderate. I don't think the switch has settings I can open, so I'm wondering if it would work if I set the modem to bridge mode, or if I have to open the NAT from the modem.
