I'm having a hard time using snipping tool for pdf files on microsoft surface pro. any tips?

just bought Microsoft surface pro.  trying to use snipping tool for pdf files but having a hard time snipping good  quality images for a presentation I am putting together on powerpoint.  Any ideas?
