Windows 8 Problem: Immersive Background & Snapped Desktop

Does anybody have a solution for this problem? Whenever I Alt+Tab, I always see these two apps appear...I try to select them, but nothing happens. I've searched for solutions throughout the Internet, and none have really worked so far. I've attempted to edit my registry in hopes of solving my problem, but when I followed the steps within this link (http://superuser.com/questions/537722/alt-tab-box-displaying-hidden-programs-in-windows-8), I didn't come across "AltTabSettings."I also attempted to use VistaSwitcher, as suggested within this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010884) in order to enable the option of ending processes (in this case, Immersive Background & Snapped Desktop). However, only Snapped Desktop disappeared, but Immersive Background remained.

Please help and thank you!!

Kind of sounds like you ran some cleanup, speedup, fix it all program and it messed you up.

System / System Protection / System Restore        put it back to a date and time before this started if you can.

Yeah, Windows forum offers no help, or there aren't enough technicians here to help.

I am having this issue as well, it only appears to happen when a program that uses the old alt-tab menu (I.E. full screen games). I haven't found any solutions yet, however this has been happening as long as I can remember.

At times, there are many more than just 3 blank programs in that list.

For other reasons, I'm re-installing my Windows 8 and will update later if it still happens on a fresh install.

Please tell me the results of your re-installation of Windows 8. I already restored my laptop, hoping that doing so will solve the problem, yet it still persists. Therefore, I'm thinking it's a Windows 8 flaw, not something your laptop can contract from a virus, trojan, etc. And yes, this problem has started ever since I started playing a full-screen game. It also occurs only when I'm playing this full-screen game.

My laptop only contains 4GB of RAM. I'm planning to add another 4GB to make it 8GB, so hopefully this will solve the problem (I have high doubts, however).
