Windows 7. 256 colors?

I am trying to set my laptop running Windows 7 to 256 colors in order to connect it to my old tv. How do I do this since the only options I can find are 16 bit and 32 bit?

Hi

Right click the Desktop and select Screen Resolution.

On the right side of the window, select the Advanced Settings link.

Select the Adapter Tab and click the List All Modes button.

Select one of the resolutions with 256 Colors.
