0x800704cf
and something about network location cant be reached?

how the hell do i fix this?

Hello bluekeybord,

If you’re getting error code 0x8024402f, the problem might be related to your antivirus software or corrupted network settings. We'd like to know if the issue is only isolated to Microsoft Family Features.

As an initial troubleshooting, I suggest that you run the built-in network troubleshooter. To do this, please follow the steps below:

  1. Press the Start button > type Troubleshoot then press Enter.
  2. Under Get up and running, select Internet Connections > click Run the troubleshooter.
  3. Follow the troubleshooter on-screen instructions.

If the issue still persists, I recommend that you run these networking commands using the Command Prompt window. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Press the Start button > type Command prompt  > right-click on Command Prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Click on Yes.
  2. Run the following commands in the listed order, and then check if it fixes your issue:
  • Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
  • Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
  • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
  • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
  • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Hope this information helps you. To notify us and have us get back to you, simply reply to this post.

Additional information would help me find the right answers for you.

  • Did you notice any recent changes on your PC prior to the issue?
  • Do you get the same error message when accessing other Windows apps? (Store app, etc.)
  • Are you able to access the Internet using a web browser?
  • Which build and version of Windows 10 are you running? You can find this information by clicking the Start button, type winver, and then press Enter.

In many cases, downloading and installing the latest updates for Windows helps fix the issue. You can refer to this link on how to update Windows 10. Currently, the latest build and version of Windows 10 is version 1803 (OS build 17134.254).

Since the troubleshooting steps above didn't work for you, I suggest that you try to run the troubleshooter for Windows Update. Please refer to this link. After running the troubleshooter, try to sign in again your with your Microsoft account.

Please let us know if this one worked for you.

Can you provide us a screenshot of the issue you're experiencing? Please do not include any personal information in the screenshot. Have you tried to temporarily disable your antivirus software?

I suggest you changing your network proxy settings. To do this, press the Windows key + I > select Network & Internet > Proxy. Make sure to turn off Use a proxy server and turn on Automatically detect settings. See screenshot below:

Thanks you for the screenshot.

Let's try to reproduce the issue by creating a new user profile.  You can check this article on how to create a local user account on Windows 10.

If the issue does not happen on the new profile, there could be some broken system components on your old profile.

Please let us know about your findings.
