Phillip Pio, Are you a Troll? You would think he had gone all the effort to do the Above he listed to fix the issue. Would he not consider doing the above YOU listed?

I have the same issue with the insider Update programs. Even went all out to ask the (contact us) site and then after 1hr of assistance they where clueless and unhelpful. The Issue is still UN-resolved.

I've now started to HATE windows 10 because it's so pathetically broken and bugged. If only I could sue Microsoft.

A worthless company that should NOT exist. I'm switching to Ubuntu and getting rid of this OS.

#Never AGAIN.

I am still receiving this error message when attempting to update to the 16199.1000 version of Windows 10 (Insider Preview). The last successful update that I have installed was in December of 2016, version 15058. When I look in the Microsoft website this update, nor the previous one (whichever that might be), is not offered for download. I would like to return back to the previous version to determine if there was an issue in installation, and hopefully move forward.

I have tried all of the suggested tasks:

   - Clean Boot

   - SFC /scannow

   - Safe Mode w/Networking

   - endless others, with no satisfactory conclusions/results

Has anyone received an update from Microsoft on this issue? I know there are others in the community having the same issues and would appreciate any updates for resolution.

Thanks...

Tony

He NickAurelia, yes it is from time to time a bit hard to be an insider. You are supposed to have the knowledge, understanding, patience and contribution to work with the fast builds you receive. And yes sometimes it is not easy. If so, the insider program was not necessary and everybody receives new builds every week or so.

If you just want to use Windows 10 just install a the latest Version 1703 (Creators Update) And do not turn insider builds on.

You will have a great Windows 10 experience without the burden of fast updates and their accompanying problems AND BENEFITS.

There is a warning to not use this on a production machine where you are depending on. Do not take this litely and if you do other wise (just as I do), be prepared to accept what you get.

No reason to bash here.

By the way. I do have the update problem and I do search and try for solutions to solve it. But I guess I might do a fresh install (again). That is sometimes the life of an insider that in may cases bring good news and sometimes not. Good luck

I had a laptop that would quit and ask for a retry a number of times.

I decided that if they say they will do the update automatically I would just start the computer, sign on, go Settings, Updates and just go away.  8 - 10 hours later it had updated.  This was from 16193 to 16199.

I could do this as I also have others I am using for testing that had no problem updating.

Not sure why the vitriol against Microsoft and Windows 10 INSIDER PREVIEW - which is guaranteed to be a little buggy at times. Windows 10 is great, and Microsoft has really turned over a new leaf and is making up for the bad old scrooge days of Steve Ballmer.

Build 16199 will not install on my system. It's downloaded/installed about 20 times now and always finishes up on build 16193 for me. I've run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, followed this forum's advice, and sought solutions outside of the official Microsoft forums to no avail. At this point, I'm waiting for the next build, and hoping the problem is not in the current build I'm on.

The only way I got this installed was too create an iso, then copy the install.wim to the iso for build 16193..

After 30 more attempts and running the troubleshooter many times and rebooting a lot of times to upgrade My 1703 build 15063 I returned to Bing.I found a post on a blog about my version and the problem with updating. There was mentioned the following method:

  • Download the ISO of build 16193
  • Run the troubleshooter till problems are solved.
  • Reboot after the use of the troubleshooter (this took me 2 rounds)
  • Mount the downloaded ISO
  • Run the setup. That went pretty straight forward
  • Without any issues upgraded my 15063 build.
  • After this, the update to build 16199 was just a piece of cake.

This solution is mentioned around many blog posts so no credits for me but it truly saved my day. Hopefully it does for you to.
