Ugh. Same problems with VLC player. Chrome works for You Tube, but no access to my MP4 files from my camera. I've recently taken some gooders - did the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience but have to watch the video on my phone or on the camera - still a no-go on my laptop. this worked FINE before the upgrade to Win 10. Wish I had resisted the temptation to download this just to stay current...

I got the same thing, got very frustrated because youtube (https://www.youtube.com/html5) said my browser supports webm vp9, but according to Microsoft (https://dev.windows.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/status/?filter=f3f0000bf&search=vp9) it is not yet supported.
So then I disabled experimental javascript and that worked for me
1. open edge
2. browse to "about:flags"
3. scroll until "Enable experimental javascript"
4. uncheck & restart edge
