youtube wont work in microsoft edge

just downloaded the new update for windows 10.   love it, great interface and all, but I cant watch youtube videos for some reason.  it worked at first, for the first day, but for the last 3 or 4 days now,  I just cant watch anything on youtube,,    and I don't know why.  just keeps saying theres and error, try again later. it will sparatically run the advertisements, but the video itself wont do nothing.  I tried to turn on and off the cmuputer,  and also on and off to the adobe flash player.  I updated all my drivers and media playrs.   still nothing.   HELP>    youtube is all I really do on my computer.

I had the same issue. I solved it by turning off the SmartScreen Filter. Hope it works for you.

Having the same issues. After update to Windows 10 YouTube will not play using Edge - an error occurred please try again later. Trying again later never helps. YouTube plays perfectly in Google Chrome. My video MP4 files captured with a camera now only play intermittently. Sound plays but there's no picture, just a black screen. Refresh helps very infrequently, and only for the video being viewed. Selecting another video file gets the sound and black screen again.  Tried clearing cache and opening New in Private Window without success. Ugh. The fact that video DOES play once in a while and YouTube plays on Chrome suggests that the problem is not hardware related - it's the MS products...

Ugh. Same problems with VLC player. Chrome works for You Tube, but no access to my MP4 files from my camera. I've recently taken some gooders - did the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience but have to watch the video on my phone or on the camera - still a no-go on my laptop. this worked FINE before the upgrade to Win 10. Wish I had resisted the temptation to download this just to stay current...

I got the same thing, got very frustrated because youtube (https://www.youtube.com/html5) said my browser supports webm vp9, but according to Microsoft (https://dev.windows.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/status/?filter=f3f0000bf&search=vp9) it is not yet supported.

So then I disabled experimental javascript and that worked for me

1. open edge

2. browse to "about:flags"

3. scroll until "Enable experimental javascript"

4. uncheck & restart edge
