Windows 10 shows my DDR3 1333 as DDR2 RAM 800Mhz in task manager?

Why could my DDR3 show as DDR2 in my Fujitsu Esprimo P2560?

I'm using Windows 10 64bit

Intel Pentium Dual Core 3.2ghz e5800

6GB RAM.

Even when I remove RAM from the second slot, which I thought could be the problem, and use one slot, the RAM still shows as DDR2 instead of DDR3.

Will this affect the performance of my desktop PC?

I'm also using the latest BIOS update for the machine.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern.

In response to your query, please be informed that DDR3 being displayed as DDR2 should not make too much of a difference in the performance of the computer as memory speed is not usually a limiting factor. The speed advantage of DDR3 would only matter if you work on professional video processing, editing applications, where more speed is needed.

However, I would suggest you to try updating your BIOS and check again. You will have to contact the computer manufacturer for steps to update the BIOS.

Disclaimer : Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Hope this helps.
