In response to your query, please be informed that DDR3 being displayed as DDR2 should not make too much of a difference in the performance of the computer as memory speed is not usually a
limiting factor. The speed advantage of DDR3 would only matter if you work on professional video processing, editing applications, where more speed is needed.
However, I would suggest you to try updating your BIOS and check again. You will have to contact the computer manufacturer for steps to update the BIOS.
Disclaimer : Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly
can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.
