I have an answer for a locked thread

Here is the thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/password-errors-for-microsoft-accounts-when/e84c77fe-cae4-4a08-beb1-0e11cebe3d67

The answer is to on the computer hosting the share to disable the require windows hello sign in, then sign in with the actual password on the host. Now you can from a remote PC access the share using the username and password.

Also, once you disable the require windows hello sign in on the computer hosting the share and sign in with the actual password, you can go back to using your pin for the next time you log into that computer. It might be a bug where if you change your microsoft account password you need to use it once to log in for it to sync to your computer.

And you can even re-enable the require windows hello sign in... I hope this helps - it took me a while to figure this out!

Oh my god, thank you! It's absolutely ludicrous that a feature as heavily pushed as Hello is interfering with one as basic as folder sharing and that this issue has remained unpatched since 2018.
