Make sure there are no pending Windows 10 updates
Select Start, then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates.

Make sure all the updates in the Microsoft Store are correctly installed.
In the top right-hand side corner of the Microsoft Store, click on the Arrow icon or the three-dot menu > Downloads and updates. Then click "Get updates" > Update all
Note: You can turn on automatic updates in the Microsoft Store to make sure you won't miss future updates.
To do so:
Select the Start screen, then select Microsoft Store
In Microsoft Store at the upper right, select the account menu (the three dots) and then select Settings.
Under App updates, set Update apps automatically to On.
Check your time and location settings:
Select Start , then select Settings > Time & Language.
Select Date & time to verify your time settings and select Region to check your location. These settings need to show your current location and time zone.
Reset the Microsoft Store Cache.
Press the “Win Logo” + “R”
Type: WSReset.exe and press “Enter”.
Restart the computer and check.
Try running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
To do so, refer to these steps:
Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
Run the Windows Store apps troubleshooter
Perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.
Press “Windows Key + Q” to open Charms Bar.
Type “cmd” without quotes in the search box.
On the left pane, right click on the “cmd” option and select “Run as Administrator”.
Type ‘sfc /scannow’ without quotes and hit enter.
Additional troubleshooting steps
Install to a different hard drive
When viewing the Microsoft Flight Simulator Windows Store page, click Install.
Once prompted to choose a storage location, choose another drive which is not your default drive.
Perform a clean boot of windows (prevents any 3rd party apps from automatically booting stopping potential conflicts)

Attempt the download once more.
Removing Windows Store local cache file
1. Download MSFS and wait for it to error
2. REPLACE USER_NAME WITH YOUR LOCAL PC USERNAME
Go to C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\Packages \Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
and delete all the files in there
3. Reboot your PC.
4. Attempt the download once more.
Reset the Installer
1. Bring up Task Manager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESCAPE)
2. Select the Services Tab
3. Find the Microsoft Store Installer
4. Right-click it and select Restart
5. Notification will appear to state Microsoft Flight Simulator is ready to play

did everything to the letter and cant downloasd fs 2020
Also xbox beta says error.
also it gives me install location options, i select. and it loops back to drive selection options.
crazy... a new release

Hi guys, after two nights seating infront of my pc trying to solve a download problem with microsoft tore i successfuly manage to download mfs2020 today. Finally got store to update all apps, then i randomly picked few apps to download wich magically solved a problem.

Guys i was having trouble installing MSFS2020 as well. I was trying to install to my ‘D’ drive and kept getting an error message. MS support was unable to help. I found this post in another thread and it worked for me MSFS2020 is currently installing. Fingers crossed it completes.
Hope it helps someone as it is ridiculously frustrating.

Please rename the folder WindowsApps in Drive D to WindowsApps.old, restart your computer, It should work after renaming it.

Followed steps to the letter as well. When did Microsoft lose sight of quality? They are consistently subpar in their software products.
My 91GB download starts then crashes a few minutes later.
