100% disk usage on ssd

Hello, I have been having trouble for a few months now with 100% disk usage on windows 10 my specs are:

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
2x16GB installed ram 3600mhz

Ryzen 9 3900x 4.00 ghz processor

Nvidia RTX 3060

2TB ADATA Swordfish m.2 nvme ssd

I have tried:
Disabling superfetch

Disabling windows defender

Disabling windows search

Restarting my computer

Checking for malware

Updating Windows

chkdsk disk check

Reseting virtual memory

Cleaning files

Updating, reinstalling drivers etc

Completely reinstalling windows 10, which fixed the issue for a week at most

I am at a complete loss, I have tried doing everything in my power to fix this issue and I cannot for the life of me figure out the issue

This is what it usually looks like when it appears:

Does anyone at all know a possible fix or have any suggestions? This is tiring me out completely. Please and thank you for your time.

Hi KamilHolub -

I'm Jerico T., I understand that you're having some issues right now and I'd be more than happy to help you today.

Please try to boot your computer in safemode and check if the issue will still persist. Click the link below for the steps.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

While you're in safemode, perform the methods below.

Method 1: Rerun a full scan of your antivirus
- By running the scan in safemode, the virus will be less likely to be able to interfere with the scan and your antivirus will have a better chance to remove any threats. Once done, perform method 2.

Method 2: Perform SFC Scan and Repair Windows Image
-This process will perform scan for any corrupted system files or integrity violation and will attempt to repair it along with the Windows Image.

1. Open command prompt with administrator access
2. Type each command below and wait until scan is completed.

sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Quick note: While the command is running, it's expected to see the process stuck at 20 or 40 percent. After a few minutes, the process will complete successfully.

Once you complete the steps, the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool will connect to the Windows Update servers to download and replace any damaged files in the local image for Windows 10 as necessary.

3. Close the command prompt. Proceed to method 3.

Method 3: Perform Clean Boot
- This process will eliminate 3rd party application running in the background of your computer along with services that are not needed to run windows. If there's any conflicting 3rd party application that causes the issue on your computer, this process will stop it. Click the link below for the steps.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...

Once done, restart your computer to normal boot and check if the issue still persist.

If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back.

Hope this help. Have a good day.

Thank you,
Jerico T.

Hi KamilHolub -

Thank you for your response. I see, you mentioned that you already tried reinstalling Windows on your computer, how did you perform it? Is it the Reset this PC on settings? Did you reinstall Windows while keeping your data?

Will wait for your response.

Jerico T.

Hi KamilHolub -

That's fine. Thanks for updating me. I see, then let's try to reinstall windows using In-place Repair/Upgrade.

In-Place Repair
- In-place repair/upgrade or repair reinstall is a process of re-installing Windows without touching any of your applications or personal files. In this way if there's any data corruption, damaged system files or missing system files on your computer, this repair will fix or repair them.

To start we need to download an ISO file of Windows 10 and save it to your computer. Please follow the instruction on the link below to create an ISO file

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402819...

After the ISO is created, follow the instructions (video tutorial) on the link below created by PaulSey, Microsoft Agent, on how to perform repair install on your computer.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

This process will take some time to complete so you need to be very patient in waiting until the process completes. Once done , restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Please let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Jerico T.

Also have that problem with 1 TB NVME Kingspec + GTX 1070. I have an idea that it happens because of Direct Storage API/ NVIDIA RTX IO when it is trying to use my NVME SSD for additional memory. But I don't know how to check or fix it. Wrote here about my case: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/nvme-failure/8bd36c01-1980-4996-b5a8-7465b2bb09ca
